ABOUT THE DISTRICT
Cimarron Hills Fire Protection
District is Special District as defined under Title 32 of the Colorado Revised
Statutes which is managed by a publicly elected Board of
Directors. The District covers approximately 6 square miles with a
combined assessed value of over $132 million and is funded primarily by
property tax
revenue, which is currently set at 11.11 mills. (Source:

The District is located in El Paso
County and bordered on the North & West sides by the City of Colorado
Springs, on the South by Peterson Air Force Base, and on the East by
Falcon Fire Protection District. The District is comprised of a large
light-industrial park with some light-commercial/retail occupancies but
is otherwise mostly residential with an estimated
population of well over 15,000 people. The District is land-locked and
over 90% built out.
