ABOUT THE DISTRICT

Cimarron Hills Fire Protection District is Special District as defined under Title 32 of the Colorado Revised Statutes which is overseen by a publicly elected Board of Directors. The District covers approximately 6 square miles with a combined assessed value of over $132 million and is funded primarily by property tax revenue, which is currently set at 11.11 mills. (Source: Colorado Department of Local Affairs)

The District is located in El Paso County and bordered on the north and west sides by the City of Colorado Springs, on the south by Peterson Air Force Base, and on the east by Falcon Fire Protection District. The District is comprised of a large light-industrial park with some light-commercial/retail occupancies but is otherwise mostly residential with an estimated population of well over 15,000 people. The District is land-locked and over 90% built out.
