EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

General Information

Recruitment for administration staffing positions is conducted as needed with the position requirements outlined in the job announcement.

Recruitment for operational staffing positions is conducted as needed from an established hiring list, which is typically generated from the Reserve program. If there are no eligible candidates, then an outside hiring process will take place. CHFD runs a Reserve Academy typically once or twice a year depending on the needs of the Department. All basic requirements for operational personnel are outlined below.

All requirements may or may not be listed below as determined by the Fire Chief and the needs of the Department. All candidates are subject to a hiring process that may include, at the discretion of the Fire Chief, an oral board interview, criminal background check, driving record search, and drug test. Applications can be accessed by clicking here and applicants will be notified when an academy is scheduled.
