PRE-INCIDENT PLANNING

CHFD personnel occasionally conduct pre-incident planning walk-thrus of local businesses to familiarize themselves with a particular occupancy and any hazards that might be associated with it. These walk-thrus are not code inspections, however personnel may provide the occupant with ways to make their business safer. The purpose of these plans is for Operations Personnel to have an idea of what to expect in the event of a fire or haz-mat emergency.

Personnel will schedule the event ahead of time around the business owner's schedule. When conducting a pre-incident plan, the personnel will arrive in a Department apparatus wearing an authorized uniform. They may have tools with them to take measurements of the structure, photos of particular hazards or any other equipment that may be deemed necessary.
