Burn Permits

Burn Permits are required within the Cimarron Hills Fire Protection District for any type of open vegetation burning

Firewood and other natural vegetation may be burned. Burning household goods or other trash is prohibited. Residents of the District may apply for a free inspection/Burn Permit by calling our Headquarters office at 591-0960 during regular business hours.

Residential fire pits/recreational fires no longer require a burn permit, however must be located/conducted in accordance with our safety guidelines and burn restrictions. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office implements county-wide burn restrictions based on current fire danger as indicated by weather and fire fuels.
