SALES TAX REMITTANCE INFORMATION FOR CIMARRON HILLS BUSINESSES
Hello Business partners!
We understand there has been confusion around how to report and remit the 1% Cimarron Hills Fire Protection District sales tax that went into effect on January 1, 2026. We have received communication from the State to provide the best way to update your online Revenue business accounts to reflect the 1% Sales Tax.
There are a few ways to obtain assistance:
1 - Contact us at CHFD Headquarters for a step by step guide to walk you through updating your account with the new Cimarron Hills Fire Protection District jursidiction code. You may email: nfrailey@cimarronhillsfire.org
2- Email the State directly at dor_localgovsupport@state.co.us and inform them your account location needs to be updated to reflect the new 1% Sales tax in the Cimarron Hills Fire Protection district.
3 - Call the State directly at 720-795-7759 (Sales & Use Tax System) for assistance with updating your online Revenue account to reflect the new 1% Sales tax in the Cimarron Hills Fire Protection district.
Important Notes
- This tax was not automatically applied to accounts. If you have not already physically added your location to reflect the Cimarron Hills 1% Sales tax, you will need to complete this step or reach out to the state ASAP.
- If you have not had this 1% Sales tax on your account since January 1, 2026 (applies to most businesses in district), your site will have to amend their return. Our information packet includes instructions for this as well.
