Support Fully Funded Fire Districts & Special Districts in Colorado.   SB-001 and HB23B-1003

The Cimarron Hills Fire Department stands with the Pikes Peak Fire Chiefs Council and the Special Districts Association in support of fully funding Fire Districts and all other Special Districts alike.

Following the recent defeat of Proposition HH by Colorado voters, a special legislative session was called for November 17.  Fire Districts and other Special Districts want to ensure vital services remain fully funded as options for tax relief are brought to the table.

Cimarron Hills Fire is closely watching the General Assembly Special Session.  CHFPD supports SB-001 and HB23B-1003.

SB-001 reduces property tax for Coloradans and provides 100% backfill for Schools and Fire Districts.  This ensures fire districts maintain their revenue and provides them the opportunity to provide top-notch fire and emergency medical services.  HB23B-1003 creates a tax force to work towards long-term solutions, and ensures fire districts have a seat at the table.

CHFPD asks all Coloradans to support these legislative efforts.  Call, text, email, or go see your state legislators and ask them to support fire districts, keep fire districts at 100% backfill, and ensure we are looking for long-term solutions.

CHFPD would like to thank Senators Fenberg and Hansen; and Representatives McCluskie and Degruy Kennedy for their sponsorship of the above legislation and support of emergency services.
