Cimarron Hills Fire Protection District Thanks Their Community for 6A Support

Cimarron Hills, CO – Thursday, November 6, 2025 – According to unofficial results from the November 4th coordinated election, Cimarron Hills Fire Protection District Ballot Issue 6A has been approved by district voters.  The official results will be known in the coming weeks.

Ballot Issue 6A authorizes the fire district to collect a 1% sales tax within district boundaries and will go into effect January 2026.  The fire district will utilize the additional revenue to fund capital purchases replacing aging fire apparatus and fleet, to hire an additional 15 personnel across various organizational functions, open a fully staffed Station 2, purchase needed PPE and equipment, and make long needed renovations to Station 1.

The funding from 6A will result in a safer community.  Emergency response times and service delivery will improve due to increased staffing.  Community safety will improve with enhanced community risk reduction services, increased fire inspection capability, and increased public educational opportunities.
